Faces of The Fallen

23, of Williamsburg, Virginia, assigned to the 149th Transportation Company, 10th Transportation Battalion, Fort Eustis, Va.; died August 19, 2009 at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident.
Paul was born Sept. 19, 1985, in Heidelberg, Germany, the son of Paul and Bonny Dumont. After his 2004 graduation from Jamestown High School, Paul followed in the footsteps of his father by enlisting in the United States Army. He completed a tour of duty in Iraq in 2007 and was serving in Afghanistan at the time of his passing.
Paul could most often be found spending time with family and friends. Though not the oldest of the seven children, he could always be counted on to look after and ensure the well-being of all his siblings. His smile, uplifting jokes and endless charm were guaranteed to surface during difficult times. Close friends will remember his love for the outdoors, off-road vehicles and the occasional frosty beverage. His pranks, infectious laugh and ability to live life for the moment, free of regrets will be missed by all who loved him.
Just prior to his death, Paul was able to return home for his two weeks of rest and relaxation. During this time he celebrated the one-year anniversary of his marriage to Candice. He enjoyed a family trip to Chincoteague Island, a camping trip to Nags Head, N.C., golf outings with buddies, as well as barbecues and long days at the pool with his little brothers.
Paul is survived by his wife, Candice Dumont; his parents, Paul Sr. and Bonny of Williamsburg; as well as his sisters, Jessica and her husband, Christopher, their children, Montana, Makenna and Myla, Stefanie, Michelle; his brothers, Brian, Brad, and Adam. He leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Delmur and Emelda of El Paso, Texas; and his wife's parents, Kevin and Renee Doloresco; and his brother in-law, Brandon; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends.
